The average child in western countries will wear nappies for 2.5 years, equating to nearly 1000 days in nappies or 21,900 hours. At 6 nappy changes per day, that’s 5,475 nappies in their lifetime where they are being exposed to toxins, particularly dioxins.

germs in nappies

Dioxins are a by-product of chlorine, which is used in the bleaching process to make nappies white. These dioxins accumulate in the body throughout children’s lifetime. Dioxin exposure as a child will impede the immune system of the individual forever. It means their immune system will never be as strong as what they were.

Dioxins are responsible for a range of reproductive and developmental problems, damaging the immune system, along with causing irregular hormonal imbalances and cancer.

Everyone nowadays, is aware of BPA used in bottles and plasticware. But nappies contain just as much, seeping into the skin of the babies.
